It seems like there is no stopping for RRR. While RRR, the blockbuster film from SS Rajamouli, awaits the results from the 2023 Oscar nomination, this historical drama made a splash by winning the Japanese Academy Award. The film, directed by SS Rajamouli, won an award in the Best Foreign Film category. It will be given out on March 10, 2023. To note, the RRR trio of Rajamouli, Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan aggressively promoted the Tollywood blockbuster when it opened in theatres in Japan last year.

Along with winning, RRR went on to become India’s biggest box office success, earning over 650 million yen in Japan.
